2013 May GOLF NEWS
Pick Your 4 Event will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 10:00 Shotgun start. You pick your own 4 some and you may bring 1-2 or 3 guests if you like for cart fees only (green fees waived). Or play with 3 other members, $100.00 entry per team. Sign up sheet is in the hallway. Optional steak sandwich buffet to follow with Frankie, Cheech & All Nighters cooking and entertaining.
2 Man Club Championship will be held May 25 & 26. Flighted event. Sign up in hallway.
Memorial Day Mixed event Monday, May 27th. Bring a guest and we will waive green fees. Sign up in hallway.
Individual & 2 Man Matches will start the end of May. Sign up in hallway.
We are taking tee times for weekends and holidays on Thursday mornings for the weekend. You will need to have at least 3 players between 8:00 & 10:30, Sat-Sun & holidays to get on the course.
Ladies day is every Tuesday starting May 7th through September. Men will not be permitted to tee off until 11:00 on Tuesdays. Saturday mornings are Men's day. Ladies may tee off after 10:30.
Ladies golf clinics will be held on Thursday mornings in May starting at 10:00. Sign up in hallway.
2013 Men's Night will start in May. The first event will be Thursday, May 9th at 5:30 p.m., call Pro Shop by 4:00 to sign up. The next men's night will be Wednesday, June 12th at 5:30 p.m. We will keep you posted on future men's nights.

Golf Outings for May: Course closed: Monday, May 6th at 4:00; Monday, May 13 until 3:00; Friday, May 17th will close at 11:00.

Junior Golf Clinic: Thursday, May 23 at 5:00, ages 5-17. Call Pro Shop to sign up. Parents get your kids registered in the 2013 BCC Junior Program.

MGA....Men's Golf Association is in full swing going into the 2013 season. All men that were members last year will remain in the MGA this year. If you would like to join the MGA, please call VJ in the golf shop, 304-842-3111.

We are building a sod farm between #4 and #14. Do not hit shots out of the sod farm. You may take a free drop nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole. Keep all carts away from sod farm. Thank you, BCC Golf Committee.
The greens have recently been double verti-cut and fertilized. With the warm weather finally arriving we should have a golf course in excellent condition for the season. Please fix all ball marks, replace your divots in the fairway and rough, rake all bunkers and please obey golf cart rules.
May Pro Shop hours: Tues-Fri -- 8:30 - dusk; Sat-Sun --8:00 dusk.
Driving Range hours for May: Tues-Fri -- 8:30 - 6:30; Sat - 8:00 - 6:30; Sun - 8:00 - 5:00.
Ladies - are we ready to golf? The Women's Golf Association is ready to kick off their 2013 schedule of events! Our season will officially start on Tuesday, May 7. We are planning an opening day breakfast on that day at 9:00 a.m. with golf to follow. Everyone will receive our schedule of events and have an opportunity to join the Women's Golf Association and Mountaineer League. Women's Golf Association annual dues are $30.00. Dues for Mountaineer League are $15.00 and give us an opportunity to play other local courses enjoying the company of women golfers from other clubs.
A signup sheet will be on the bulletin board in the hallway for the May 7 breakfast. Please sign up at least a week prior to the luncheon so we can let the staff know how many to prepare for.
We have plans to continue our ringer board competition for the most improved golfer of the year and our par/birdie tree from which we will determine the most pars and birdies of the year.
Competitions will take place throughout the summer in the Handicap tournament, the President's cup, the WV Pin, and the Club Champion. The Handicap tournament will start on Tuesday, May 28 and continue throughout the summer. The President's Cup will be played on Tuesday, June 18. The WV Pin will be played on Tuesdays July 9 and July 16. The Women's Club Championship will be Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18. So mark your calendars and plan to compete in our yearly events.
To help us improve our golf game this season, V.J. will again run Women's Golf Clinics on the first four Thursdays in May beginning May 2 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a sign-up sheet in the hallway each week. Places will be limited to seven so sign up ASAP! The clinics are open to all women golfers - so new golfers and experienced golfers are welcome to improve their golf skills.
After opening day on May 7, we will meet every Tuesday in the ladies locker room by 8:30 a.m. and tee off at 9:00 for our weekly round. You can golf 9 or 18 holes on ladies day. Make Tuesday's a day to come out to the club to golf and enjoy lunch afterward with the ladies!
Family Fishing Day was a success! Lots of family, children and adults had a great day of fishing and fun. If you didnt make it this year, we hope to see you next year!

Friday, May 10th at 6:00 p.m. join us for Pittsburgh's own "Ed Boren" featuring his unbelievable musical repertoire. You won't want to miss this! We will be offering for specials that evening: Meatball, Chicken and Steak Hoagies with fries and salad for......$9.95
Pick 4, Saturday, May 11th. Specials will be: Breakfast sandwich and coffee......$5.00; Rib-Eye steak sandwich after golf......$9.95. Bring a guest, no green fees.
Mother's Day Brunch, Sunday, May 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be served in the main dining room. RESERVATIONS AND TIME ARE A MUST!!!!! We will be offering for the first time an "Omelet Bar." Our chefs will be here to make an omelet "just the way you like it." There will be many other delicious items available for you to savor. Please join us to honor your special Mother.
Please join us on Monday, May 27th for our annual "Memorial Day Picnic." Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad are just a few items that will be offered for you to enjoy. Please bring your family for a fun day -- reservations would be appreciated.
Hours of operation: Monday - closed; Tues - Sun -- 8:00 - 8:00 p.m. Exception: The only time that the Grill Room would close early would be due to inclement weather, the golf course is closed and no one is in the Grill Room. We cannot afford to retain help to stand around and wait for someone to come, we hope that you understand. We are sorry if any member has been inconvenienced at any time.
We know that summer is just around the corner, our pool will open on Saturday, May 25th and the hours will remain the same as last year 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The only exceptions will be when there are swim meets or inclement weather. So get out those bathing suits and head to BCC pool.
